Matthew Goode is absolutely riveting as Bob Evans. He takes a show that is already really [enjoyable] and makes it a must watch. The breathy speech and off kilter cadence is [fascinating] enough, but what really impresses me is that high-wire balance of vulnerability and quiet menace which he flips like a switch depending on what end of the corporate ladder he is addressing. In those days, movie execs got shuffled more than a cocaine dealer’s rolodex, so it’s a [fortunate] thing Evans knew what he was doing for this film. We got something that was the opposite of bad.
Okay, enough with the Mad Libs. Can I use the frickin’ pun already?
Don’t do Peter Falk. It hurts my head.
